This is an exciting and fast moving field within contemporary art where students do original artistic research in experimental forms and contexts. Rebekkah Palov’s artist practice includes video, sound art, digital-print, artist apps, performance and media-installation. She is a researcher on the history electronic arts and media arts curator. Palov holds a BFA in Film from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (2001) and MFA in Integrated Electronic Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2009). Her work has been exhibited at Anthology Film Archives NYC, Mass MoCA Boston, BronxArtSpace NYC, Chongqing Huangjueping Art Festival, China. Hyde Park Art Center. Chicago, IL, festival screenings include SLINGSHOT, Athens, GA, MADATAC’OS, Madrid, Spain, Oblo Film Festival, Lausanne Switzerland, VIDEOHOLICA,Vama Bulgaria and backup_festival, Weimar Germany. Sound art pieces have been programed at Harvestworks NYC, SoundFjord Gallery, London UK, Digital Art Weeks, Zurich Switzerland and Radius – Experimental Radio, Chicago, IL. and she has performed as a member of Carrier Band. Her work is distributed by the iea, Schematic Diagram of Voiceover (Carrier Band) CD and Aspect: The Chronicle of New Media Art, ASPECT-EZ DVD. Palov has participated in artist residencies at the Institute for Electronic Arts (Alfred, NY), the Experimental Television Center.
